There is such a variety of fish in the sea! Some are real dazzlers, while others are, well… less attractive. The female blue marlin in particular stands out: a cobalt-blue beauty as lovely as a siren, she enchants even the most seasoned of anglers who do their best to reel her in.

Should they be so lucky, they promptly release her back to the ocean for that is the law. In Costa Rica’s Pacific waters, the imposing blue marlins abound, especially during the summer months when big schools of small swimmers make for tasty feasts.

These powerful, predatory giants have quite an appetite and grow to weigh half a ton!
